Our current project will support displaced women and their families in Shire.
Past Projects
Sudan
We partnered with Global Society for Tigrean Scholars to provide 110 pregnant and lactating mothers with $250 Sudanese pounds, per woman in Sudan’s Tenedyba Refugee camp. These amounts were modest in sum and meant to supplement their needs. These funds helped women pay for things like phone cards, transportation and personal care products.
Mekelle
Mulu Charity was the first project of Tegaru Women for Tigray. Located in Mekelle the capital of Tigray, we were able to work together to provide 19 women with $10,000 birr each. These women were pregnant or had infant children and also were survivors of weaponized rape by soldiers. The funds made available to them helped them pay for things like clothing, food, pads, medication or other items they deem necessary.

Tegaru Women for Tigray Mother’s Day Fundraising Event
Tegaru women for Tigray (TWT) is calling all TWT and supporters to join us for our upcoming first annual Mother’s Day event. It will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 237 Sackville Street in Toronto, and all funds raised from this event will support Tigrayan women & Children who are victims of sexual violence in Tigray. Amazing food from our beloved brother Tsehaye! Amazing live music by multiple singers and our beloved brother Robel (DJ Yayo)! Tickets are on sale now for $60 each!! Hello family!
From Tegaru Women For Tigray (TWT). We will be hosting a fundraising BBQ on Saturday, July 24 from 11am to 7pm. The BBQ will be taking place at Earlscourt Park (1200 Lansdowne Avenue, Toronto, ON, M6H 3Z8).
Food and drinks will be sold, as well as a raffle! There will be activities being hosted at this event for all ages...soccer, badminton, water balloon toss, henna, talent show, and more!
*100% OF ALL PROCEEDS WILL BE GOING DIRECTLY TOWARDS MEKETE to fight the manmade famine.
